Sport, Innovation, and Community — Nitto ATP Finals

For the fifth consecutive year, the city of Turin is hosting the Nitto ATP Finals, the most anticipated tennis tournament of the season, welcoming once again the world’s top ATP players — including Italy’s number one, Jannik Sinner.

To celebrate this major international sporting event, and as part of the “PoliTo Sporty Campus” initiative — which aims to enhance the role of sport and integrate it into university life the Politecnico di Torino is organising a week of activities from November 10 to 14.

On the occasion of the Nitto ATP Finals, Politecnico di Torino opens its doors with talks and events that bring together sport, education, and innovation,” said Rector Stefano Paolo Corgnati. “Sport, along with education and research, is a fundamental pillar for the personal and professional growth of our students. Using campus spaces for sports and initiatives that actively engage our international student community is a tangible sign of our university’s commitment to openness — promoting Politecnico not only as a place of learning, but also as a space of well-being, dialogue, and participation.

As part of the PoliTo Sporty Campus initiative during the Nitto ATP Finals 2025, the Comfort Lab took part in the event with a presentation on materials and technologies for thermal regulation in sport.
The intervention highlighted the Lab’s ongoing research on heat and moisture transfer, innovative textile structures, and smart materials designed to enhance athlete comfort and performance under varying environmental conditions.
