Textile Technology Testing LAB

The Textile Technology Testing Lab provides a controlled environment (21 °C; 65% RH) for the characterization of textile materials used in sportswear and technical applications. The lab is equipped with advanced instrumentation for analysing thermal–moisture management, surface properties, and mechanical behaviour of fabrics.

Main equipment includes:

  • PermaVape (SDL Atlas) - measures the water vapour permeability of fabrics.

  • Air Permeability Tester (37/S, Branca Idealair) – measures airflow through fabrics to assess breathability.

  • Moisture Management Tester (MMT, Atlas) – evaluates the liquid transport and drying performance of textiles.

  • Tensiometer (K100, Kruss) – determines surface tension and wetting behaviour of fibres and coatings.

  • Cutometer (MPA580, Courage + Khazaka Electronic) – assesses the elasticity and deformation properties of skin and soft materials, supporting comfort evaluation.

Together, these tools enable comprehensive studies on fabric performance, comfort perception, and material innovation, complementing the climatic chamber experiments conducted within the Comfort Lab.
